AI Listing Summary

This 1951 Talbot-Lago T26 stands out as a unique, coach-built example with a rich history, including single ownership for the past 40 years. While it has been repainted, it retains its original upholstery and mechanically sound engine and gearbox, presenting a rare opportunity for collectors. Note: sold without technical inspection.

Condition

7

The car is described as being in 'superbly preserved original condition' when purchased by the current owner 40 years ago, and has been driven very little since. While it has been repainted, it retains its original upholstery and the engine and gearbox are running well. The odometer reading is likely original. However, the absence of a technical inspection suggests some potential underlying issues.

Navy blue with a red leather interior, the Talbot boasted the exceptional craftsmanship typical of great coachbuilders, and was delivered to its first owner on 31st July 1951.

An old photo donated by the Talbot Club shows the car at this time, probably at a Concours d’Élégance.

The car was registered in Paris in 1979, and in 1985, its current owner bought it at an auction at the Musée de l'Automobile in Reims.

The elegant coach was already in superbly preserved original condition, and has been driven very little since new.
