For Ferrari, the family of the 250 models marked the beginning of a new era, moving from a craft-based approach to a more industrial one.

Built around the amazing Colombo V12 engine and launched in 1953, the 250 Europa was the start of a closer collaboration with Pinin Farina and a greater attention towards passenger comfort, interior layout and soundproofing.

For the first time, the emergence of the letters “GT” (for Gran Turismo) in Ferrari’s nomenclature reflected the brand’s desire to reach a broader audience.
Due to the success of this new car, Ferrari and Pinin Farina decided to increase production, prompting the coachbuilder to build a new factory in Grugliasco.
