The 4x4 version of the Mehari only had a very limited production, since only 1,213 examples were manufactured.

In comparison to the 145,000 two-wheel drive units produced, the “trial car” (as advertised then) is today a rare and coveted collector’s item.

As confirmed to us by the Conservatoire Citroën, this 2-seater Mehari left the factory on the 11th of January 1980 and its first registration document states that it was registered in Aisne on the 21st of May 1980, the day it was purchased at the Saint Quentin dealership.

Its first owner kept it until 2003 and sold it to an enthusiast from Loir et Cher; the latter then sold it to its current owner in 2006.

It therefore had 3 owners since new.
