Les jantes sont désormais fixées par quatre boulons et les poignées de porte remplacées par de simples boutons à poussoir.
Son comportement gagne donc en stabilité et en rectitude.
Enfin un panneau arrière démontable de l'intérieur facilite l'accès à la mécanique.
Le moteur de la Renault 12 Gordini de 1605 cm3 développant 127 ch DIN accouplé à une boîte à 5 rapports propulse la Berlinette à 215 km/h chrono.
Seulement 481 exemplaires furent produits entre 1973 et 1975.
La production de cette mythique automobile cessera en 1977 avec la SX.
