Utilisant tous le même châssis, chenilles et trains de roulement, les modèles M5 et M9 fabriqués chez IH furent équipés d'un moteur "Red" type 450-B de six cylindres en ligne de 6,3 litres de cylindrée et d'une puissance de 143 chevaux.
Les blindages étaient également différents du modèle White avec un arrière rond en tôle de blindé, des ailes avant en tôle emboutie anguleuses et un tableau de bord plus complet, utilisant des manomètres communs aux autres blindés.
