Après l'éphémère JS1, apparut en 1971 la JS2 (l'appellation JS étant retenue en souvenir de son ami Jo Schlesser, décédé lors du Grand Prix de France de Formule 1 en 1968).
Sur la base d'un châssis poutre, vient se greffer une carrosserie en polyester dont le dessin revient à Frua.
La voiture est tout d'abord motorisée par un V6 Ford issu de la Capri 2600 RS, rapidement remplacé par le V6 Maserati et la boîte de la Citroën SM.
Très rapidement, l'homme est démangé par l'envie d'engager cette auto en compétition.
Deux autos de course sont préparées et engagées aux 24 heures du Mans et au Tour de Corse 1972 sous les couleurs BP.
