Par sa marque, d'abord, étoile filante au firmament de l'automobile française.
Son créateur, Jean Daninos, a réussi à lancer en 1954 une marque française d'automobiles de luxe, à une époque où le pays a perdu toutes ses grandes marques.
La deuxième raison, c'est sa carrosserie: une berline basse, racée, aussi luxueuse qu'une Bentley et aussi rapide qu'une Jaguar, grâce à une motorisation américaine puissante et fiable.
La troisième raison, c'est sa rareté: entre 1958 et 1964, 145 exemplaires d'Excellence série 1 et huit de série 2 ont été produits.
