Cette fois-ci, les stylistes de Heuliez-France-Design ont choisi d'utiliser la plate-forme du break XM, dont Heuliez assurait la production pour le compte de PSA, pour réaliser une limousine qui n'en est pas une, la voiture ne disposant que de deux ouvertures latérales vitrées.
Cette berline trois volumes conserve le coffre et les feux du break XM, mais reçoit une lunette arrière plus verticale, qui permettait de libérer de l'espace pour un capot de coffre classique.
L'arrière du véhicule fut modelé en clay pour figurer le volume choisis.
La maquette fut présentée au Président Chirac lors de sa visite des usines Heuliez en 1996.
