Dans la poursuite de l'excellence mécanique chère à l'ingénieur suisse Marc Birkigt depuis 1904 à Barcelone et 1911 en France, les Hispano-Suiza H6 présentées en 1919 avaient affiché une telle avance et de telles qualités routières qu'elles tenaient encore leur rang dix ans plus tard malgré une concurrence de plus en plus rude.
