This Alvis TD21 Series II is the very car that was road tested by Autocar magazine in August 1962.
It comes with an original copy of that edition, in which it receives a 5-page test drive.
Autocar rated it highly for its “restful long journey capabilities”, attaining a top speed of 103 mph and finding that “smoothness and quietness are outstanding characteristics of the six-cylinder engine”.A restoration was carried out in the 1980s, and much mechanical work has been done during the vendor's tenure, which began in 2018.
This has included fitting a new stainless steel petrol tank, a recored and upgraded radiator, a new head gasket, brake calipers, a front suspension rebuild and 5 matching Vredestein tyres.
