This Thames 400E 15cwt has been thoroughly restored and converted into a replica of a Team Lotus racing car transporter from c.1958.

It has been subject to 2K respray in Goodwood Green.

This work was carried out in 2018-19, and the vendor has provided a meticulous description.

Highlights included restoring the cab, restoring & lengthening the chassis, and fitting a 6-cylinder Mk3 Zephyr engine, mated to a 4-speed gearbox with Laycock J-type overdrive on 3rd & 4th.

All new steering linkages were fitted, together with a new laminated windscreen and a new rear body.

In the vendor's words, “The vehicle has been assembled with all New Old Stock OE or Ford parts, including front & rear shocks and springs, all steering and suspension bushes, joints and relay assemblies.
