AI Listing Summary

This 1968 Jaguar E-type Series 1, imported from Colorado in 2014, presents an interesting opportunity. While it has low mileage and a single UK owner, it requires recommissioning and has some known issues, such as a broken wiper switch, which impacts its overall value.

The car has moderate wear and tear. There are some known issues such as a broken wiper switch and a non-functional heater. Some recommissioning may be required due to the car not being used much recently, and a respray is believed to have been carried out in the USA, which suggests cosmetic work has been done but also might indicate a less-than-perfect original finish. The vendor also mentions some new parts fitted, suggesting some maintenance has been done.

We sold this 4.2-litre Jaguar E-type Series 1 to its present owner in 2015 and since then it has hardly been used, so some recommissioning may be required.

The car was imported from Colorado in the USA in 2014 and first registered on 1st October 2015.

The odometer is showing 67,397 miles, and the V5C indicates only one registered keeper in the UK.

According to the car's Heritage Certificate, it was manufactured in April 1968, originally finished in Light Blue with a black interior, and despatched on 2nd May 1968 to Jaguar Cars, New York.

The car is accompanied by a 1998 registration document from Colorado, and an HMRC letter including a NOVA reference number, but there is no service history.

The vendor tells us that the E-type has an electronic distributor with a new cap and leads along with an overhauled brake servo, and new door rubbers and a rear window rubber have been fitted.

A respray is believed to have been carried out while the car was in the USA.
