This much-loved Bedford CA ‘Porthole’ Dormobile camper, known as ‘Doris’ for much of its life, is a rare example of a split-screen CA with a genuine conversion by Martin Walker.
It was built in 1958 and first registered on New Year's Day 1959.
Accommodation comprises pop-up roof, gas cooker, wardrobe and sleeping for four.
Doris has been with the same owner since 2009 and comes with a lovely service history, with plenty of old MoTs and receipts going back to the 1970s.
These show that works have included removing and reconditioning the engine with new pistons, timing chain and big end bearings in 1999.
The history also includes period photos showing its restoration, and letters exchanged between previous owners describing its past in rare detail.
Doris has not been used in recent years so may require some recommissioning.
