This 1990 Rover 216 GTI was apparently laid up before its first MoT was due with its owner believed to have subsequently passed away, meaning its first ever test was in April this year when it was recommissioned and put back on the road.

It was registered in September 1990 and has had just two registered keepers since then.

Its odometer shows 18,410 miles and the MoT is valid until March 2026.

The car is fitted with the reliable and well-proven 1.6-litre 130bhp Honda DA16 twin-cam engine rather than a Rover K series unit.

The recommissioning in 2024 included four new Kumho tyres, cambelt and water pump, oil and filter, air filter, spark plugs, coolant, brake pads and discs, one caliper and a fuel pump.

It is reported as running and driving well with no issues.

Aside from some scratches to the bonnet and a few panels, presumably picked up during storage, the car is in very good condition inside and out.

The only paperwork is the V5C plus the current MoT certificate.
