The vendor, a prominent motoring journalist, acquired this 2005 Alfa Romeo 166 Ti Lusso in 2018 from its original owners, after it had been out of use for a while.

Work on it was chronicled in Modern Classics magazine for a year until an accident in 2020 - not the vendor's fault - when it was declared a Category D insurance loss with light rear end damage.

It was then sold on and fully repaired by its new owners.

The vendor then realised he missed it and bought it back, since when it has appeared in Practical Classics and Auto Italia magazines, the latter celebrating the anniversary of the 166's introduction.

The Alfa, which presents very well inside and out, was registered April 2005 and is now showing 97,827 miles on its odometer.

It is MoT'd through to October 2024.

The vendor reports that it drives well with no known issues, aside from inoperative air conditioning and a slight oil leak onto the crankcase - the smoke from which usually disperses after five minutes.
