This late Austin pick-up was registered in April 1972, has had eight registered keepers overall and is now showing 97,409 miles on its odometer.

Although MoT-exempt as an historic vehicle, it has been given a fresh test, which is valid until April 2024.

The pick-up was previously green, it was changed to the current maroon last year.

The Austin has been restored, with the vendor noting the work done as the engine (a 1275cc version) being stripped down, the cylinder head remachined to run on unleaded, a new water-pump, timing chain and clutch fitted, the brakes done, the carburettor reconditioned, and the hoses, rubber seals, back wheel arches and rear floor replaced.

The body was taken back to bare metal and the resprayed inside and out.
