There's quite some history to this 1951 Lancia Aurelia B10.

According to the documentation held in the car’s history file, this 1951 Lancia Aurelia B10 took part in the 1952 Mille Miglia event, driven by racing driver Umberto Maglioli, finishing 19th overall, also winning the Gran Turismo class.

In preparation for this evocative event, this B10’s original 1754cc 56bhp 810 V6 engine had been swapped for a B21 1991cc 70bhp unit by Lancia’s technical department, which is also confirmed by Lancia in a February 1976 letter contained in the car’s history file to a past owner.

This often-practiced conversion offered much better acceleration and a top speed of 90mph.

It appears that the transaxle was also upgraded at the same time.

In addition to Lancia’s conversion, period competition clues remaining on the car show the fitment of an additional Lancia B20GT tachometer and oil gauge, roof-mounted auxiliary windscreen wiper, cord wrapped steering wheel and centrally mounted spot lamp.
