Firstly, the 1967 model year saw the introduction of the big-block 390ci V8 engine – that’s 6.4 litres in European speak – while in 1968, Steve McQueen showed exactly what a 320bhp GT390 Fastback was capable of against a Dodge Charger in the 1968 movie Bullitt.
