Description
The limited edition Rover 200 BRM was first shown at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show and, thanks to favourable press and public reaction, launched at the British Motor Show in October 1998.
It took the range‑topping Vi model as its main basis, but added references to the racing cars of Formula 1 team British Racing Motors, a constructor with which Rover had been associated during the 1960s.
These included red quilted leather seats and door panels, red carpets, seatbelts and steering wheel, alloy heater controls and turned aluminium trim.
The only paint available was Brooklands Green, with silver trim details, 16in alloys, and an exclusive woven mesh grille sat above a large orange snout, which was the BRM trademark nose on its 1960s' F1 racing cars.
