Description
Vauxhall's Calibra, sold from 1989 to 1999, was a trend‑setter when it appeared at the end of the 1980s, signalling a move back towards curves after the more angular designs that had dominated the decade.
Initially only available with front‑wheel drive, from November 1990, four‑wheel drive became available.
In 1992, a turbocharged 2.0 litre 16 valve engine 204 bhp variant was added to the range.
With 4WD, a six speed Getrag manual transmission and a claimed top speed of 152 mph, it was regarded as the flagship of the range.
One notable feature of the Turbo was the extreme negative camber, with the inward lean of the rear wheels being very noticeable.
This black example with black leather interior was registered in August 1993.
Eight former keepers are recorded on the V5C, which is present.
The Calibra has been off the road since around 2015, when its Mo
T expired, and will thus need recommissioning.
