The car has significant damage to the front, including the wings, valance, bumper, and radiator grille. The steering wheel is broken, and the fuel tank is removed. Although the damage was staged for a film, it still requires substantial reconditioning to restore the car to a usable condition.

This 1934 Standard Nine R9 has come direct from a film company, where it was used as a stunt vehicle for the forthcoming production of Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, a TV adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel due to be screened in 2022 starring Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Emma Thompson (among others).

The Standard was purchased undamaged and driving for the purposes of a stunt.

It now has damage to both front wings, front valance, the bumper, numberplate and radiator grille (which has two shallow dents in its top).

The steering wheel is also in several pieces and the fuel tank has been removed for Health & Safety purposes.

This is still with the vehicle and can be reinstated.

Because the accident was staged for a TV production, the Standard 9 is not recorded as a total loss and has clear title although the V5 incorrectly states the year of first registration as 1932.
