When it comes to rallies, few were quite as tough as the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon.
The event took place between the 24 of November and 17 December 1968, covering 10,373 miles (16,694 km) through Europe, Asia and Australia.
It was ultimately won by Andrew Cowan, Colin Malkin and Brian Coyle driving a Hillman Hunter.

The car was acquired by the last registered owner in 2011 after he spotted it rotting in a garden in Bristol.
He was told that it had been there for two years due to the clutch failing and prior to that had been stored in a barn for 17 years.
He replaced the clutch, totally rebuilt the braking system using all new parts throughout and undertook the remaining work as required including welding around the headlights, with these areas being rebuilt.
