Acquired by the vendor in 1988 in running condition, this Jaguar 240 underwent a major restoration during the mid‑1990s.

The car was stripped, with its engine, gearbox and interior out, and body and chassis repairs carried out.

Five wire wheels, with tyres, were fitted (with the wheels themselves coming to £775), and and the engine checked over, with repairs to the gearbox and back axle.

New brake pipes were installed while, inside, the dash and door cappings were re‑veneered, and the carpets and headlining were replaced.
