Description
Chassis No.
9117610407French vehicle registration document “Extremely rare Vipergrün Diamant Metallic colour, in the same ownership for 40 years” The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 was launched in 1976 to replace the Carrera 2.7.
It was fitted with a 3-litre, 200 ch engine derived from the 911 Turbo, offering greater torque and excellent reliability.
Despite having less power than its predecessor, it remains a high-performance car. With only 3,651 units produced over two years – comprising 2,546 coupés and 1,105 Targas – it was replaced in 1978 by the 911 SC.
Recognisable by its distinctive ‘Carrera 3.0’ monogram, this version was often fitted with Fuchs wheels or an optional rear spoiler. As evidenced by its warranty booklet, our example was delivered on 4 September 1978 to its first owner in the Zug region of Switzerland.
Thanks again to this booklet, we learn that the car had 23,154 km on the clock at the time, suggesting it had previously been used for promotional purposes.
