Its 2,849 cc fuel-injected V6 produced 170 hp, giving the 505 a far more sporting character than the durability-focused reputation it had built until then.
Available with either a manual or automatic gearbox, it could exceed 210 km/h (130 mph), making it the fastest production Peugeot of its era.Built in only a few thousand examples until 1990, the 505 V6 featured specific trim, an independent rear suspension and an outstanding balance of comfort and handling.
Overshadowed at the time by the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz W124, it is now regarded as one of the most desirable and collectible versions of the 505 range.Our car is one of the few examples to have been delivered new across the Atlantic; in our case, specifically to Mr V., who was attached to the French Embassy in Washington.
