In 1963, the Stuttgart firm is in the final stages of preparation for the 356 B's successor, the 911...

The future legend is not yet ready, but certain mechanical adjustments are.

It was therefore decided to upgrade the 356 to its ultimate production version, named C and SC.

Among the many changes, the most important was undoubtedly the switch to four disc brakes, and major changes to the running gear!
The 356 disappeared in 1965, a year after the 911 went on sale.

The model illustrated here was one of the very last to roll off the assembly line.

According to the copy of its production sheet, #162107 was delivered in the USA in this extremely rare shade of Bali Blue with Havana interior, a combination reserved for a handful of examples.

The sheet also shows that the car is indeed matching numbers!
