- An evolution of the 161, the flagship of the Lion marque's popular range, the Peugeot 172 features wider tracks and a more powerful engine.
- From late 1925 to early 1928, 27,98 examples of the 172 R were produced.
- In 1927, the headlights were moved from the top of the fenders to the front grille.
- The 4-seater interior, like the one shown here, was priced at 17,900 francs - the most expensive in the range!
- This strikingly original example appears complete and sound, awaiting - at the very least - mechanical restoration.
