- After the success of the DB4, 5 and 6, Aston Martin needed to renew and change the now mythical lines of their flagship.
William Towns' design had the difficult task of succeeding the Carrozzeria Touring with the DBS in 1967.
The lines were more angular, and in 1969, the main element changed considerably: the elegant 6-cylinder was replaced by a V8!
- In 1978, the DBS, now a V8, became a V8 Volante to meet the demands of the American market.
Once again, the DBS was a success, the styling a success, and the V8 (especially when coupled with the automatic gearbox) offered a cruising drive that impressed even our friends on the other side of the Atlantic!
