The Peugeot 404 Cabriolet, launched in 1962 and bodied by Pininfarina in Turin, uses the same chassis as the saloon but with a specific bodywork, with no common elements.

It is equipped with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 72 bhp in the carburettor version and 85 bhp with Kugelfischer injection, for a top speed of 160 km/h.

Around 10,000 were produced, and today it is prized for its Italian elegance and rarity.
Our example is one of the first to be produced, here in its carburettor configuration.

Traces of a fairly good quality restoration are visible on both the bodywork and the mechanical parts.
Today, the car is in fairly good overall condition: the paintwork, although quite thick, has aged nicely, as has the interior.

The seat covers appear to have been replaced more recently, and there is a (repairable) tear visible on the driver’s seat.
