Following the success of the 403, Peugeot presented dealers with the first-born of the X04 range, designed by Pininfarina.

The 404 was a saloon car with striking features that quickly became popular and is still one of the most attractive French cars.
The 1963 model is interesting because it was the first to use the more robust and reliable 5-bearing crankshaft 4-cylinder engine!
Our example seems to have benefited from an intelligent restoration: where the engine bay is still original and in perfect condition, a veil of very good quality paint has been applied, and the upholstery has been redone and is perfectly preserved.
It runs very well, and gives the impression of a car pampered by its previous owners.

The engine runs smoothly and the gearbox doesn't make any abnormal noises...

Nevertheless, after a few months of storage, a service will be recommended.
