Abarth 750 Sestriere Zagato – 1960 French historic registration title In the mid-1950s, Carlo Abarth, the famous Italian wizard, set his sights on the brand new Fiat 600.
With four big Borgo pistons and a re-bore to reach 747 cc, a home-made intake pipe to bolt on a Weber 32 carburettor, a competitive air filter and a custom-made marmita, the Fiat 600 Gran Turismo derivazione Abarth wasted no time in making its mark and wreaking havoc in 750 class competition...
and on the road! Carlo Abarth presented a Zagato body version of his elegant saloon car at the 1956 Turin Motor Show.
This first version, called the 750 GT, featured Zagato's famous double-bubble roof, and gave the model its letters of nobility, with numerous successes in competition.
With 44 hp and 535 kg on the scales, the little all-aluminum scorpion propelled its occupants to 160 km/h on the clock.
