The DS 23, the ultimate evolution of the legendary DS, entered production in September 1972, featuring a 130 hp fuel-injected engine in its most advanced version.

The DS 23 replaced the DS 21, which was then renamed the “D Super 5” and equipped with a manual gearbox.

For the 1973 model year, the 2.3 l engine was available in both carbureted and fuel-injected versions, with a choice of three different transmissions: manual, hydraulic, or automatic.

This remarkable powertrain gave the DS even greater flexibility and torque, allowing it to reach nearly 190 km/h at top speed.
