AI Listing Summary

This is a 1933 Peugeot 201 B, an innovative version of the model that helped Peugeot navigate the 1930s crisis. It underwent a restoration in the 1980s and is presented in very nice condition, though it needs a carburetor and is sold without a MOT.

Condition

6

The car description indicates a restoration was performed in the 1980s, with evidence of attention to upholstery, mechanics, brakes, steering, and bodywork. It is described as being in a "very nice state of presentation" currently, and while the engine is not blocked, it will require a carburetor. Additionally, the car is being sold without a MOT which suggests it may need some work to be roadworthy.

Presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1929, the 201 is the model that will allow the Sochaux manufacturer to get through the crisis of the early 1930s, while increasing its sales and profits, as the French car industry dropped by a third.

Planned to be named 629 for 6 HP and 1929, this model will go down in the history of the brand as the first to respond to the new three-digit naming system with the central zero, which will then be used on all future models of the brand.

The 201 is powered by a 1122cc side-valve 4-cylinder engine with 23 hp and a three-speed gearbox.

With a weight of about 890 kg, the newcomer reaches a top speed of 85 km/h and has a fuel consumption of 8 to 9 liters/100km.

The 201 also benefits from a wide range of body styles: sedan, 4-seat torpedo, coupe, convertible, commercial and utility.
