After the economic crisis of the late 1920’s, many manufacturers tried to renew their offering to survive.

The Sochaux firm produced its first mass-produced model, the 201, representing the entry-level model of the firm.

It was a real commercial success, and was soon followed by a mid-range counterpart: the 301.

From the beginning, this model was declined in four distinct versions, of which the rarest and most prestigious is the Roadster.

Our example is one of these rare versions, and has an interesting history.

Its current owner found the car in South Africa, where it had been imported apparently in the early 1970s by «Peugeot South Africa» to be displayed.

After a change of management in the mid-1980s, a South African enthusiast bought the car in a rather poor state of preservation, and undertook a complete restoration that lasted until 2000.
