Introduced in 1955, the DS Citroën had the difficult task of succeeding the Traction Avant.
It impressed the public with a new and strikingly modern design, a masterpiece by Flaminio Bertoni, and also astonished by its technique and design: hydropneumatic suspension, power steering, disc brakes, semi-automatic gearbox, to name but a few examples.
With a twenty-year career and a variety of models ranging from the elegant convertible to the utility station wagon version, it also shone in competition, winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1958.
A true myth and symbol of the French industrial genius of the time, the DS is one of the most collected cars in the world.
The D Super replaced the ID20 in 1969, and was equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and power steering.
