Grande berline de la gamme Peugeot, la 505 est lancée en 1979, elle sera la dernière berline propulsion de la marque.
En 1983, Peugeot fit appel à Porsche afin de préparer une version turbo à essence à partir du bloc Chrysler-Simca 2,2 litres.
La 505 Turbo Injection était reconnaissable à sa peinture spécifique bi-tons et à ses jantes alliages TRX 15 pouces.
D'abord commercialisée en version 150 ch, elle fut suivie par une version 160 ch sur laquelle on pouvait ajouter un kit PTS développé par Danielson qui permettait à son moteur de développer 200 ch.
En 1976 la FFSA lance le Championnat de France de Production mettant en piste des voitures très proches des modèles de série.
En 1980, une première 505 préparée par Danielson participe au championnat.
Elle est dotée d'un 2 litres poussé à 188 ch.
Elle ne brillera pas dans la compétition mais aura le mérite d'attirer l'attention sur ce championnat.
Il faudra attendre 1982 pour que la 505 de Beltoise gagne à Magny-Cours et Montlhér...
