Présentée au quarantième Salon de l'Automobile sous la nef du Grand Palais en 1953, la 2300S allait vite prouver qu'au-delà de sa ligne agréable, son comportement sur la route avec son moteur quatre cylindres double arbres à came en tête de 105 ch associé à une boite Cotal électromagnétique en faisait une redoutable voiture de sport.
Elle s'illustrera d'ailleurs sur les épreuves les plus prestigieuses comme les Mille Miglia, Le Tour de France Automobile, au Monte-Carlo ou encore dans des courses telles que le Lyon-Charbonnières, la coupe des Alpes et le Liège-Rome-Liège.
Selon la remarquable étude de Michel Bonnerot, seulement 217 coach 2300S furent produits.
