Rare sporting version of this unusual classic Vauxhall; one of only 500 made with upgrades from Aston Martin/Tickford and Irmscher; recently recommissioned following 20 years in storage; advisory-free MOT; a very cool Eighties classic; find another one! The Cavalier Calibre was a special edition of the Cavalier Mk2c which was styled by Aston Martin/Tickford with a bespoke Irmscher bodykit, sports suspension and sports exhaust.
Other goodies included Recaro sports seats trimmed in Chicago velour; sports steering wheel; electric windows and door mirrors; power steering; alloy wheels and a trip computer – pretty cool in 1987!Based on the SRi 130, the Calibre had a 130bhp 2.0 engine and 5-speed manual gearbox which made it good for 120mph.
Only 500 were made, all finished in Carmine Red, and a bit of Googling leads us to suspect that this car might be one of only two surviving in roadworthy condition but you will need to make your own minds up on that score.
