Tucker, conceived by Preston Tucker, aimed to revolutionize the auto industry post-WWII. The Tucker 48, nicknamed the "Torpedo," featured innovative safety features. Only 51 cars were produced before the company folded amid scandal and controversy.
A little-known fact: Many Tucker 48s used Oldsmobile Hydramatic transmissions because their own design wasn't ready. These transmissions were sourced legitimately.
