Every Model
Tiger cars, a product of Rootes Group, emerged in the 1960s.
The Sunbeam Tiger, a collaboration with Carroll Shelby, housed a Ford V8 engine.
It was conceived to boost Sunbeam's sports car image.
A lesser-known tale involves Ian Garrad, Rootes' West Coast Sales Manager, who initially approached Shelby. Shelby swiftly installed a Ford V8 into a Sunbeam Alpine, showcasing its potential. Rootes then contracted Shelby to produce a prototype. However, due to capacity constraints, production shifted to Jensen Motors.
