Terraplane, produced by Hudson Motor Car Company, debuted in 1932.
The name evoked speed and flight, fitting for its lightweight construction.
Amelia Earhart endorsed Terraplane, boosting its popularity.
Despite initial success, Terraplane was discontinued in 1938.
Few know that Terraplanes were briefly sold in Japan. Hudson partnered with Jidosha Seizo Co., later Nissan, to assemble and market them. This venture, though short-lived, marked an early instance of American car manufacturing influencing the Japanese automotive industry.
