Stevens-Duryea emerged from the Duryea Motor Wagon Company in 1900, founded by J. Frank Duryea and Stevens Arms. They split in 1902, with Stevens focusing on luxury cars.
Their cars were known for quality and innovation, becoming a status symbol. Production ceased in 1915 due to financial issues.
A lesser-known story: Stevens-Duryea cars were so meticulously built that each chassis was road-tested for 1,000 miles before the body was even fitted. This ensured peak performance and reliability, setting them apart.
