Stearns-Knight cars, produced in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1912 to 1931, were known for their Knight sleeve-valve engines, offering smooth and quiet operation.
F.B. Stearns, originally a bicycle maker, shifted to automobiles in the late 1890s.
Stearns adopted the Knight engine early on, setting them apart from competitors.
A lesser-known tale involves a Stearns-Knight being driven over 1,000 miles nonstop in 1916 to demonstrate the engine's reliability.
