The Scarab, a brainchild of Lance Reventlow, emerged in the late 1950s.
Reventlow, heir to the Woolworth fortune, channeled his passion for racing into creating high-performance sports cars.
The Scarab cars achieved notable success in American sports car racing, challenging European dominance.
A lesser-known tale: Reventlow, frustrated with Ferrari's refusal to sell him a car, decided to build his own, more competitive machine. This act of defiance fueled the Scarab's creation.
