Raleigh, known for bicycles, briefly ventured into car production.
In 1904, they introduced a motorized tricycle, followed by cars in 1911.
Their car production was short-lived, ceasing in 1934.
Did you know Raleigh cars were almost called "Raleight"? The company considered this spelling to differentiate the cars from their bicycles. Ultimately, they stuck with "Raleigh," but the near name change is a quirky footnote in automotive history.
