Messerschmitt, the German aircraft manufacturer, wasn't always about cars. Post-WWII restrictions meant they couldn't build planes.
So, they turned to microcars. The KR200, designed by Fritz Fend, became their most famous model. Its tandem seating and bubble canopy were distinctive.
A lesser-known fact: Messerschmitt faced legal challenges over the car's name. Other companies argued it implied aircraft technology. The company eventually changed its name, but the cars remain iconic.
