Maxwell, an early 1900s American car, was founded by Jonathan Maxwell and Benjamin Briscoe.
One interesting tidbit: Walter Chrysler's early career took off at Maxwell. He revamped their production, leading to the successful Maxwell Model 25. This turnaround paved his way to eventually founding Chrysler Corporation.
