KTM started in 1934 in Austria by Hans Trunkenpolz. Originally a metalworking shop, it wasn't until 1954 that KTM produced its first motorcycle, the R100.
The company saw racing success early on.
Did you know KTM briefly made cars in the 1950s? The KTM Mecky was a small, lightweight car, but production was limited.
