Hillman, a British car manufacturer, began in 1907. Rootes Group acquired Hillman in 1931.
During World War II, Hillman stopped car production to assist in war efforts.
After the war, Hillman resumed car production. Chrysler took over Rootes in 1967.
Did you know Hillman produced a unique vehicle during WWII? They created the "Iron Fairy" mobile crane. These cranes were vital for aircraft recovery. They helped keep British airfields operational.
