The Flanders Automobile Company, established in 1908 in Michigan, was the brainchild of Walter E. Flanders.
Flanders aimed to produce reliable, affordable cars.
His success led to a merger with Studebaker in 1911.
Interestingly, Flanders left Studebaker shortly after, starting another venture.
A lesser-known story: Flanders cars were known for their rigorous testing. Before release, each car underwent a 500-mile road test, ensuring quality, a practice quite unusual for the time.
